Support/Extras:
-Maxine and Fernando Vegas are late 20's to early 30's hispanic couple.
Maxine has a assertive personality about her, and the actress needs to be able
to show that without coming across as a jerk.
Fernando is more timid, but not too much. The actor should come across as a
little geeky or artsy, glasses would be a nice touch.

-John and Merry Wilkins are a young African American couple in their mid
20's. There is no specific look for these actors.

-Kerry, Sherri, and Lucy Diamond are a Caucasian family. They represent
a "Leave it to Beaver" type family. Kerry, the husband, should is overly
happy, and the family shares that, especially his wife, Sherri. The actor for
Kerry should be slim, and have a very conservative look to him. I would prefer
that the actress playing his wife would be a brunette, with shoulder height
hair, as to also display a conservative look. I want this couple to be like
the kind of people who knock on doors asking "Are you saved?," to have that
kind of look. Lucy, the daughter, can be from age 6-12, she just needs to be
very cute, an actress with long hair would be nice so it can be braided into
pony tails.

-I have no specific preference for the Lipton family, except only that
they should be a couple in their 30's to 40's.

CASTING INDEPENDENT FILM “The Play”

Scheduled to shoot: October 22-25, 2009

LEAD:

Devon-Needed for 4 days

Male early 20’s Caucasian (not pivotal)

Marty McFly is a Devon-ish character.

Devon Spelling has been working at the theater as a stagehand for a very longtime. The only reason he took his mother’s suggestion to start working there was because she thought it would be a way to make connections that would lead to acting jobs in the future. Devon has a passion and a talent for acting that goes unnoticed every season just because all the old and experienced inhabitants of the theater want to through their weight around and prove to Devon that they rule the roost. Devon, however, is as patient as he is ambitious and has been biding his time. Devon is most undeniably the most sane and level headed person in the theater. His wisdom often time takes the best of him and making fun of the other characters in the theater is not a wise thing to do. Devon is conservative soul, few of words, and mainly lets others do their thing if he can do his.

 

SUPPORT:

Female 40s through mid 50’s Caucasian

Mrs. Noir must have been deprived as a child. She is like Madame Giry in “The

Phantom of the Opera”, very strict but with a loving soul and a passion for theater.

She however also tends to somewhat idealize the theater and what it is. She gets lost

in its world and does see things practically all the time. She also has an artist soul

that is rather flighty. She does and says things that don’t make sense except for in

their emotional or artistic sense.

Mrs Scarlet- 2 days, 1/2 day pickup (.5)

Female mid 20’s Black

She is modeled after a character from the film “Brick”.

Ms. Scarlet just got her first wings of a good review for her latest roll in

“Macbeth”. With this new breath of wind she got cast in the theater’s upcoming

“Romeo and Juliet”. She is proud and pompous about it because now she has the

official bragging rights over Devon. It was a fluke and chance and she took it way to

far. Now she is cool and sexy and desirable. She trinkets herself with red satin and

has put on the persona of film noir pin up.

 

Mr White- 2 days, 1/2 day pickup (.5)

Male mid 40’s to 50’s Caucasian

Mr. White is like a Pavarotti of the stage. He a large man who looks like he could sing

for the opera. He is very clean and neat. Not a stitch out of place. He likes to spout

words as if they are wisdom but he really is saying a lot of nothing with a large

amount of time. He is one of those guys that you respect on one level because they

are mostly very smart and learned, but want to avoid on the other because they

CANNOT be wrong. Mr. White is short and portly but has a lot of zeal.

 

Charles – 1 full day, 1/2 day pickup (.5)

Male 55+ Caucasian

Charles is a very old stagehand that has worked at that theater many years. He is

like looking at Devon in the mirror. He wanted to be an actor to and got typecast as a

stagehand the rest of his career. He looks like the typical high school janitor, burnt

out and going through the motions. The only ironic part is that even though he has

been a stagehand for so long he still is awful at it, because it was never his passion.

Despite all this he is really a harmless person and a kind soul. Would never

purposefully hurt a person.

of the kids in the theater in the movie “Finding Neverland”.

Benjamin Todd, Producer at Brigand Pictures is looking for an older actress (over 35) and a younger actress (over 15 under 30) For a commercial which will consist of these two ladies driving in a BMW SUV and having a semi-funny conversation about getting their car fixed after a collision. The commercial will be played for at least a month straight on Comcast. This one specifically is geared towards ladies, so specifically on ladies' channels (lifetime, etc).

Casting Call
Kim Correll is in pre-production for the next installment of a documentary series. She is looking for her two main leads - Joseph Standing and Rudger Clawson. Standing was a Mormon missionary who was murderd in 1879, near here. The roles are not speaking, but they will be re-enacting the whole event. So this will be a somewhat physical shoot. They plan on starting in June at the latest. The two actors would be used for possibly 4-5 days. Maybe more. Hopefully not. And they are paid parts. Both men were in their early 20's as well. Please send Kim a photo and she will be selecting and calling possible candidates in to interview. Kim is also looking for a non-southern voice over actor to record Clawson's telling of the story. This is an open invitation for actors, writers and filmmakers to work on some short projects together (3-10 min. productions). Rehearsals will be on Wednesday evenings from 7-9 pm at our office downtown. Please have any interested individuals call or email us so we can begin assembling the productions. Most will require only a week or two to rehearse and perform. Some will be live and some will be filmed. Either way it's an excellent opportunity to showcase the talents in our community.

In other words, it is presented to the viewer, as though the participants are not actors but unsuspecting victims of a practical joke. An Actor's performance will require only one morning within the next 30 days. Acting or crew experience is NOT required. There are no lines to learn and dialogue will be improvised. Actor applicants should be between the age of 18-50, in good physical and mental health, competent swimmers, and able to fall in shallow water without injury. Ricky is a junior in high school and is the popular kid.  He’s the captain of the football team but this hasn’t gone to his head.  He’s a down to earth kind of guy. He’s nice to everyone including the nerd of the school Jimmy.  Ricky is worried though about being seen with Jimmy especially around his friends.  So he’s kind of caught in this tension of whether to hangout with Jimmy or keep his image—friends.
